Who We Are
The Neighborhood Center for Greater Omaha (NCGO) is a non-profit organization established in 2001 to provide information and assistance to neighborhood associations to enable them to come together and develop their own leadership and decision-making structure and effectively address the issues affecting the quality of life in their communities. NCGO works directly with residents in the tri-county area, including those who are members of neighborhood associations, homeowners associations, business associations, coalitions, community development corporations, churches, and other not-for-profit groups.

Administrative Guidelines
Neighborhood Associations wishing to participate in our program and receive services from us will meet the following criteria:
Each neighborhood association will adopt a set of bylaws for its organization, which will govern rules of procedure (including voting), membership, frequency of meetings, organization and duties of officers. The neighborhood association will keep a copy of its bylaws on file with us.

Each neighborhood association will keep a current copy of its roster of board members on file with us and the city (if applicable).

The membership of neighborhood associations will include all residents, property owners, businesses, and a representative of non-profit organizations within the neighborhood.

The boundaries of the associations will be defined by the association. Every attempt should be made to avoid overlapping boundaries.

Neighborhood associations must hold at least one general meeting per year to be considered in active status.

Omaha-based organizations are encouraged to register with the city Planning Department. All changes to the board, meeting times and location, and contact information should be reported as soon as possible.

Neighborhood Associations who use the NCGO services agree to the following conditions:

Only neighborhood-based organizations-commonly recognized as a group that has a mission that has emphasis on advocating for the improvement of a neighborhood and the quality of life of its residents can access services.

Only 500 one-sided copies per calendar month are free. Additional copies and double sides will cost $0.03 per page. Copy of the material must be provided for our records.

All copies must reference your neighborhood group.

The conference rooms can only be reserved if at least five people are expected to be present. If less than five people arrive, NCGO reserves the right to revoke the reservation. Reservations should be cancelled at least two hours in advance.

The resource library is available to anyone however material can only be loaned to persons residing in the three counties NCGO serves. Borrowers are expected to cover the cost of lost or damaged materials. All visitors must complete a request for services form at each visit if a service is used. Each service used should be marked on this form.
